What Number Do You See?-This activity tests your ability to recognize various numbers represented by ten-frames. By doing so, it ultimately helps students with their ability to work with numbers when trying to make ten! Be sure to try the "Multiple Tens Frames" activity. For an additional challenge, see if you can get the target sums in the FEWEST moves!Circle Addition Equation-When you think about it, an equation is very similar to our balance for comparing mass. If both pans have an equal amount, the balance is balanced. If both sides of our equation have an equal amount, our equation is also balanced or equal. BE SURE TO CLICK ON PRACTICE MODE when first playing this game! Click on the correct circle that would make the equation balanced or equal.Solving Addition Equations-This balancing equations game is a bit more difficult. Some of the addends are negative numbers! See if you can determine what number would need to fit the equation so that both sides of our equation are equal.Thinking Blocks- Addition & Subtraction-A really good strategy that can help you solve word problems is by using bar diagrams. Bar diagrams help you to visualize the information that you know and how that information can help you to solve the problem. This site does an awesome job of modeling addition and subtraction word problems using bar diagrams.Mental Math Addition & Subtraction:Estimated Addition Quiz One-In class, we learned different techniques used to estimate numbers.
